first blog entry (ever)

I have never written a blog before. In fact, I am not sure if I'm doing this right. The one time I was supposed to write a blog in class, I was absent. By the time I went back to school, my friends had all completed their blog entry assignments (I say blog entry, but I'm not sure if it's counted if it had been written on lined paper to be submitted for marking to our English teacher...) and then gotten them back. Admittedly, I would probably have been able to understand how this worked if I had been listening to my teacher while she was going through the corrections (I vaguely recall there was some sort of 'proper' way to start a blog) but I had 'The Lincoln Lawyer' under my desk. And from personal experience, it is not an easy feat to bring Michael Connelly's words to life in your head and 'pay attention' at the same time. Heck, I am just going to get to the point. I have never been one for formalities anyway! Though it is at this point that I have to contradict what I just said, because I realize that in this case, a little formality is required.

Hi! I am Claire Seah, I am 16 years old and born in the sunny little island of Singapore (when I say little, I mean very very little. After all on the world map, it is just a red dot) If you're wondering why I started this blog, it's because I am leaving to study at UWC Atlantic (perhaps I'll talk more about how that happened in another entry) in Wales soon and want a way I can keep in contact with family, friends and all the people I am leaving in a more intimate way than Facebook permits. If you're not wondering why I started this blog, I'm sorry you had to read that last sentence(; Oh, one more thing about me, when I 'type' smiley faces or sad faces or whatever faces, I tend to do them like this (: as opposed to this :) I am not sure why this is so, but I thought I'd better mention that in case you think it's a typo of some sort!

Before I end this blog or before you get bored and decide to stop reading (hopefully the former(: ) I thought I'd share with you the meaning behind the name of my blog (is it called a name?) 'ALL THE TIME'.

1. This is a blog I can update all the wonderful people in Singapore about what is going on in my life 'all the time' - or in my case I will try to do so as often as I can, so that it seems like we are together 'all the time'. Okay you can heave that sigh of relief, the lameness ends here.
2. A reminder for me (and hopefully you) that we are so lucky to be given time to spend, time to live on this world. I think that we are so fortunate and blessed to be allowed to be given the gift of time, and I like the idea that this blog acts as a sort of reminder for me not to procrastinate, but rather to use my time to the fullest.
3. It is such an abstract phrase which everybody can have their own interpretation of. I like the idea that it does not really give you an idea or expectation of what is to come (for me: what I write on this blog, for you: whether you'll continue to read this blog!) because it is about the now, the present.

As I said earlier, I am not usually one to do things the 'proper way' so I'll just end with this.
